But remember this, when a group of white and black ones are fully united in hating homosexuals, you may not be racist, but homophobia is just in the same book. Profiling, needing a reason to hate. Only now the skin color wasn't the factor that decided which group you belong to, but your sexual orientation. But that makes it just as bad.
Hatred in whatever kind of form, can only be driven from this world, if we accept that everybody is different, and that belonging to "an other group" does not mean we should hate the members of the other group for this.
I can put this even further. I remember as a kid that we had a constant "war" with pupils from a different school. So even there the "group" vs. "group" thing is there. (CapCom even based the game "Rival School" on this phenomenon). Now not race, sexual orientation or even religion is the key, but the school kids attend to.
Our society developed faster than evolution can follow. It is very well possible that hatred, including racism, may fade over time. But I don't expect to see the day that will happen. What we needed in the past to survive is now standing in the way. The world has become smaller due to modern technology. We need each other more than ever. One of the reasons the coronavirus is still not under control is because none of the nations want to allow an other nation to put the feather of beating that virus on their cap, and want the honor to themselves. Corona is only one of the many issues for which that counts, but as the present time the issue dominating the news most.
Think beyond the scope of racism, and think in hatred in general. Look at the reasons why people could belong in a group or not, and look in what reasons people have to hate the other. Find out what group you belong to yourself and try to find out what you can do to accept the other. You don't have to "love" them. You can't love everybody in the world. But accepting the other group. If you can let the idea of your group go, and don't hold too tight on identifying yourself with that group, you may hold the key to end hatred in general, and if hatred fades, so will racism, as racism is nothing more but hate based on groups... Groups decided by skin color.
Now the seeing the core of the problem is one thing. Accepting that core is another. Most people do not. It's easier to blame others than to accept yourself *and your group the way) you truly are
