The NRA is first and foremost a lobby for gun manufacturers and always been. The rest is a PR stunt that you fell for.

Says the man who opposes Americans being able to defend themselves from criminals. Newsflash! The cities with the highest crime rates are the ones with the strictest Gun Control laws.

Newsflash: just like last time you used that argument, and the time before that, and the time before that, there are no cities where a gun store isn't an hour's drive away.

Are you saying that more Gun Control will keep criminals from buying guns off the black market? Spoiler Alert. It does not. What additional Gun Control laws do is punish law abiding citizens by keeping their Right To Keep And Bear Arms behind additional layers of red tape. How many shootings are at firing ranges and gun shows? None! Why? It is simple: firing ranges and gun shows are full of law abiding citizens with guns!

Black market is still a market. If you can make it harder for criminals to get guns, the supply curve shifts right, the market equilibrium goes down, the volume of sales goes down, fewer criminals have guns.

Basic economics.

So, yes. That's what I'm saying.

Prohibition banned booze and it didn't stop criminals from acquiring booze. Marijuana is still illegal in most states, but that hasn't stopped stoners from getting their hands on a bag of weed. Cocaine and crystal meth is full blown illegal, yet drug cartels make millions every year from it. The black market won't be negatively affected by additional Gun Control laws. In fact, it will benefit from more Gun Control because it is a market built on crime.

The black market isn't a magic place immune to the laws of economics. Before the smugglers got involved, beer was expensive and there wasn't enough of it - so people started drinking weird shit brewed in someone's bathtub. If marijuana is cheap in your neighborhood, there's probably someone nearby growing it in their kitchen - good quality marijuana with high concentrations of THC is too expensive for most casual users to afford.

You CAN'T make guns in your bedroom. You CAN'T make them in a bathtub. You can't even make them in a garage. They require such specialized machining that we can - and do - count and keep track of the number of facilities that even have that capability. People got excited about 3D printed guns for a while but those turned out to be crap guns - I'm not scared of a mugger who has a shit gun that if he shot me with it, I'd go "ow! That's REALLY annoying. Stop that."

So by any analysis, black market sales of guns are HEAVILY affected by the supply bottlenecks, which can be restricted by legislation. And guess what, your weak assed myths about guns are losing their power over people, because your arguments were a house of cards from the start.

You want to talk about the laws of economics? Here is one you've overlooked: so long as there is a demand, there will always be a supply. You can't stop every truck or van that crosses the state line. You can't search every warehouse or ship. You can't prevent every burglary. You can't keep a gun from ending up on the black market. All additional gun control laws will do is punish law abiding citizens for the actions of criminals by infringing on their Second Amendment rights. That is not a "house of cards". That is the truth about the immoral legislation that pinkos like you support.

CITIES WITH THE HIGHEST CRIME RATES HAVE THE HIGHEST GUN CONTROL LAWS! HOW ABOUT YOU LOOK THAT UP INSTEAD OF USING FANCY WORDS TO MAKE YOURSELF SOUND INTELLIGENT!

Don't come crying to me when someone is breaking into your house and you are defenseless because the legislation you supported prevents you from acquiring the means to defend yourself and your property.

False.

NYC, safest big city in America.

Of course anyone can cite this year, which thanks to a ridiculous new bail law and setting a ton of prisoners free so they can spread Covid in public rather than in prison plus protests/riots against the Police tying their hands, shootings and murder have gone up.
All showing law enforcement DOES work when allowed to, go figure.

And that's not highest crime rates in cities as you refer to but highest crime FIGURES, as in tallies. Turns out the more people there are, the more crime there is because math.

Actually the place with highest per capita rate of violent crime in the USA just so happens to be its most sparesly populated. That place is the State of Alaska. Likewise, many States (also not densely populated) out West have higher than average violent crime rates.

New York City is the safest big city in America, so long as you avoid the ghetto.

Yeah, because the safe parts are Jamaica Estates and Forest Hills *rolls eyes*

Based on your previous statements regarding cities and crime, what you point out regarding NYC is irrelevant.

Because it ain't your fault that you're acting obtuse?

Oh wait, did I said, "acting"?

First off, I am not obtuse. I am pointing out that cities with strict gun control laws have high crime rates. Second, I support the Second Amendment because I want all law abiding Americans to be able to defend themselves from criminals.

Doubling down on it doesn't make it any less so, and that goes for repeating the same partisan hack lies - AFTER, no less, that got trounced.

I grow bored with this a lot?
