Defunding does not mean disbanding, it means diverting money to services that have the training to deal appropriately with the people that the police are unnecessarily killing.

The Police arrive, the Father resists arrest and tries to flee, the Mother and children get caught in the crossfire and the whole family die. The Police file a report. There is an investigation but nobody loses their job.
