Yeah... she claims to be, but definitely doesn't act like it. I highly doubt her life has actually been transformed by Christ.

not everyone has to be a homophobe to be a true christian.

Homophobe is the wrong word, as it denotes a fear of homosexuality. In reality, those who stand by Scripture know that it's morally wrong, and so stand against it.

But I wasn't talking about her support of the trans movement specifically.

You say that, as a child would say that a high-power chainsaw is bad. It's not evil, it's simply dangerous to the irresponsible.

lol how is it dangerous to the irrisponsible

Sorry, bad analogy. Perhaps a better way to put it would be: you say that, as a child would say that a scalpel is bad. Not evil; rather, it simply hurts, although the effects are life-saving.

Nah, I'd probably think of it more as plastic surgury, while having more people like and accept you, but It's not the real you. And usually it doesn't have any good effects, besides changing how you look.
0 ups, 5y
Because that would be in disobedience to what Christ commanded. Look at the Prophets. They were sent precisely because people were living lawlessly, and so they were given the task of trying to bring the people back to God. Or at the end of the Gospel of Matthew, Christ gives the Great Commission to the Apostles, which reads: "Go into all the world and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you (Matthew 28:19-20a)."

But hiding behind a façade is still ungodly and deceitful.

And also, there are verses that show that from the very beginning, every person God created was meant to be the gender they were born as: Genesis 1:27 & 5:2, Matthew 19:4, Mark 10:6
0 ups, 5y
blah, blah, blah. Bible this bible that. Why don't you just let people live how they want to live?

I never said that. I said that acting on homosexual desires is wrong. All humans are born with a will to sin; it simply manifests itself in different ways in different people.

hey, i'm really sorry but as a bisexual christian, i kind of have to contradict against that, but if so many people are ok with it, than why isn't God ok with it? we should have our rights to love the same gender, and be a different gender. for some people, being lgbtq is the best thing that ever happened to them. i have a girlfriend, kissed a guy and now am a better person than i was a few months ago, when i didn't know i was bi.

In case you didn't know, God's Law is to be esteemed above human feelings. God doesn't care about being politically correct; He cares about calling people back unto Himself out of sin.

Define, "better person." Many heathens are, by worldly standards, "better people," than some Christians.

Actually, I was complaining about how terrible her books are.

But no, I don't believe in trans rights. If someone identifies as the opposite gender of what they were born as, it should be off to the looney bin for them.

And I thought you said quite some time back that you'd never come back to this stream.

I agree with you, as these things were different years ago, but things have changed, does the bible not say love thy neighbor? If your neighbor were trans, would you love and protect them, or would you throw them to the hounds of hell?
0 ups, 5y
If I love my neighbor, I will do everything I can to keep them out of sin.

"They do not, they simply disagree with the bible. The most important part of this is that that is OK. The religions of the past and present are different, richer. If you think of the bible, it says that the Earth is 6000 years old. That is physically impossible. Simple fossilization takes longer than that, so God is incorrect in this statement. But that does not mean that everything he said is wrong. The seven deadly sins are real, the 10 commandments are real, where do we draw the line between real and false?"

I'll address this piece by piece.

1. Christ is the only way to the Father. It doesn't matter how traditionally rich your religion is if your trust is not in Christ.

2. You're forgetting the Flood. It could easily have buried living organisms and piled sediment on top of them extremely quickly, thus extremely accelerating the fossilization process.

3. You can't cherry-pick the Bible. You can't cherry-pick what God says. Either He's completely all-knowing, all-wise, and always correct, or He is not who He says He is. And if He's not who He says He is, why trust anything else He says?

But if he contradicts what he says, than what do I say

And also, this is not your belief, in truth, there are other religions, take Buddhism. In their “bible” it says that if you don’t believe in their gods, you are going to their version of hell, which religion is correct? Also, if you believe in God, do not interfere in other people’s beliefs. It just causes hate towards you that is completely unwarranted. Just allow people to believe separate things and all will be fine, there will be less hate towards people that believe something different and we can actually live in peace.

Unfortunately for you, truth isn't relative. There is only one truth, and that is Christ.

I have every right to "go unto all the world and make disciples of every nation, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." In fact, it's my responsibility as a Christian.

If I get hate for being a light in the darkness, I don't care. Some people don't like being told the truth. That's their problem, not mine. And if I get hate for being a servant of Christ, I will rejoice in being counted worthy to suffer for the Name, and I will know that I'm on the right track.

I don't want temporary peace at the cost of others spending eternity in hell. I desire that all would come to God in humble repentance, even if it's at the cost of a short struggle, for in the end it brings Joy and Life Everlasting.

I can't argue your point and I don't want to argue, In truth I just want peace. In the eyes of my soul I love you and every human being. Just try not to get in over your head OK, there are people with less understanding than me and I don't want anyone to get hurt (including you) for contradicting beliefs.

"Actually it's both" Of all the roughly ten countries that have Christianity as their state religion, none of them have capital punishment as a legal option. Furthermore, none of them criminalize intercourse between two people of the same gender. Furthermore furthermore, all of them allow same-sex marriage nationwide except Greece.
0 ups, 5y
And anyways, those who are truly following Christ wouldn't kill them; they would offer them grace, and a chance to repent.

"If a drowning man refused to let himself be saved, what's to be done about it?"
Would you push him under the water?
0 ups, 5y
No, of course not. But if he won't let himself be saved, he has chosen to let himself drown, of his own accord. There is nothing I can do about it except keep offering him the choice to be saved.

Ignore the fact that it says hundreds of years, it’s more like, if the fossils only took 100 then there would still be bones in the process of fossilization

So... I have to ignore a fact for your point to work?
0 ups, 5y,
1 reply
no, we simply have not found anythin g in the middle of fossilization, e.g. a large bone, so that 100 years is deemed incorrect
0 ups, 5y
Well, the reason we haven't found anything mid-fossilization is because everything was completely fossilized in the Flood.

Studies show that most people struggling with sexual identification usually get over it in a couple years at most. And besides, sexual identification issues weren't a thing until liberals started taking over America.

I didn't say that you said that Jesus didn't exist. I said that you said that you doubt the veracity of His claims to Messiahship. So I gave evidence that His claims were legitimate.

The Bible says women were treated as objects? Look at Proverbs 31; you'll see that the woman described in the passage has the same status and responsibilities in Hebrew society as men. Or look at any of the interactions the Prophets and Jesus had with women. You'll see that they treated those women with kindness, compassion, and respect.
0 ups, 5y,
1 reply
So you doubt the historical veracity of Scripture? And that Jesus was who He said He was? Here's some (of many) reasons to think otherwise:

-The prophet Isaiah (as well as many others) made extremely accurate predictions about Jesus the Messiah, 700 years before He was born.

-If we look at Jesus's life in the Gospels, we see that He acted perfectly rationally. Not something that a drunk or a madman would do.

-Christ appeared to over 500 people within the first few weeks after His resurrection, and continues to do so today for those who are seeking Him. And before you throw the hallucination argument at me, people don't share hallucinations. So even if they were all in a state of mind where hallucinations could happen (and that is highly improbable), they would've all seen different things.

-Saul, who didn't have any other reason to convert, was visited by an apparition of the Resurrected Messiah while on the Damascus road. He wasn't in a mental state where hallucinations could occur. It couldn't have been a mirage, because he heard Christ's voice. So it had to have been the real Christ.
0 ups, 5y
I'm not saying Jesus didn't exist. He probably did. What I'm saying is that some parts of the bible talked about stuff like about how women are kinda objects back then.

A researcher from the University of Toronto by the name of Dr. Kenneth Zucker put 25 girls with gender dysphoria through therapy, treating the dysphoria as a sign of phycological distress rather than an entity in and of itself. 30 years later, 23 out of the 25 had lost their sense of gender dysphoria.
