Yeah, this was mostly for fun. And I tacked on a “get out the vote” type message which, basic and simplistic as it is, has value.
I don’t think anyone will change their mind from seeing this meme, or if anyone is likely to change their whole political orientation from viewing a single meme.
Memes on the Left and the Right mostly seem to be about talking to themselves and reinforcing group solidarity — the infamous “echo chamber.” Rare is the meme that seeks a genuine cross-partisan exchange of ideas, and even rarer does it actually happen.
Yet, you are a testament to the fact that people do change their minds.
And what makes a person change their mind? I dunno man.
That is the million-dollar question that every political scientist and every political campaign in the world would pay very good money for.
