Any plans for rolling out some sort of enhanced blocking feature?

Some sort of block feature is better than none (ImgFlip didn't have a block feature at all until a few months ago), but I feel like memers should have the option of blocking others from commenting on or even seeing our content, period.

Because as it stands, even a troll who is "blocked" can go onto a meme and comment, leaving blocked comment notifications all over the place that the target either ignores at their own peril, or else clicks on in order to find out what the troll is saying behind their back at the risk of getting sucked into another flame war.

So by "enhanced blocking," I mean a way for one memer to basically excommunicate another memer and leave no further possibility of interaction or viewing the blocker's content.

Memers would likely use such a feature sparingly, since the entire point of making memes is for others to see them. But the threat of excommunication would help keep trolls from going too far over the edge in harassment, and would be a good option in cases where victims feel they are being severely harassed.

Even with enhanced blocking, a very persistent troll could always get another alt account to harass the target, but the target could just block that one and it's likely that the troll will eventually give up.

Timber1972 is o_0. Posted comments and both responded within 5 minutes. Only a loon would create o_0 to constantly put herself in the spotlight.
What's o_0 big case here? Timber1972 got kicked of another platform. Boohoo. Who cares? Like that's an actual crime or something. Timber1972 is very annoying but that's all really. Because we are locked in a classic frame game where the goal is to break his frame, and if you pay close attention they take awhile. But last night I broke his frame, so now we are playing a form of King of the hill now that I broke his will, he's trying to find some way to win back his mojo, his inner game, because I got him to chicken out with the classic excuse "I'm bored", which is typically something Timber will mock you over if you finally give up in an argument with him. That self-deletion raises my suspicions further that it was Timber himself -- but if it was by chance a young memer driven away by his behavior then what a terrible outcome.

I noticed he does that a lot, and gets off playing his lame version of good cop/bad cop, especially trying to bully and groom younger members on the site. If I catch it, I try to step in and advocate- in the snarky way that I do. Tried to help "LeaveMeAloneTimber1972" but I think he/she left because she changed her name and was stuck with it, something Timber was now mocking him/her over. And also the newbie probably was simply overwhelmed because Timber's psychopathic trolling is effective against someone sensitive like "LeaveMeAloneTimber1972".

The sad thing is that some younger folk can be driven to suicide by cyberbullying, something Timber is aware of and doesn't give two shits about. Made all the more ironic and hypocritical by his reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeing over all those "poor POOR babies murdered in abortion genocide"(his derp, not mine).

Oh right: they did change their SN, and when you do that then ImgFlip imposes a 30-day hold on changing your SN again, I believe. I could see that frustrating them to the point of account deletion.

Another feature of ImgFlip that should perhaps be reformed, or exceptions to that policy granted upon petition to the Global Mods (I don't know if that memer tried that or was even aware that was an option)

What exactly is the point of locking someone's SN for such a long time? Is it to keep Mods apprised of developments? I get that, but 30 days is an internet eternity. 7 days should be more than enough.

I hope they come back to ImgFlip at some point under a different SN, but we may have lost them.

No need to pit me against Vaga, that bridge is already burned pretty much. Yeah he does this often. My take on him is he has a paranoid streak and an inability to let go of any perceived slight. His sole purpose for interacting with this platform appears to be to cause drama with other memers. Just check his comments to featured memes ratio. And a good chunk of those featured memes are in a hate stream dedicated to yours truly.

Vaga was actually nice to me at first when I was a newb around Nov./Dec. 2019 but eventually he started ranting at me for being a “hypocrite” over... god knows what. He seems to have a chip on his shoulder from the fact I started a stream devoted to sex positivity and from time to time post sexy ladies (just like a thousand memers before me)

But he’s been doing a lot less of that lately ever since I blocked him and stopped giving him the interaction he craved.

He is actually the only person on ImgFlip I have ever blocked. He can be one of the nastiest trolls on the site, but once you get past that, he’s actually rather harmless because he does not actually stand for much of anything politically speaking. One of the reasons I felt fine blocking him whereas I would rather keep tabs on Timber1972 and some of my other hardcore Rightist haters.

On the rare occasions he actually voices a political opinion, he’s generally Left as he opposes Trump, although he is Right on a few things like “muh free speech rights” and gender roles and such.

Another reason for enhanced blocking: We could more easily sort out who is starting drama with themselves with gimmick accounts, since it stands to reason that anyone who was being genuinely harassed could just hit blonk and put an end to it.
