Not everyone is capable of that, nor is it reasonable to expect them to.

If it keeps happening action should be taken. However, I don't believe that it is at all likely that the offending party will persist after they continually get no reaction.
People can learn not to care what trolls say about them. Call me weird, but people disrespecting me or calling me wrong usually just further affirms my own ability and correctness in a situation where I 100% know I'm right.
