Eh..., imperialist wars, wanton drone strikes, gitmo, war on whistleblowers, fast and furious, and just not bettering America in a significant way are some pretty compelling counter arguments to that. He's a slightly above average president at best.

The skin tone of a president is irrelevant to me. That's identity politics. The only thing that matters to me is policy and policy alone. Obamacare was a right wing proposal that was a tiny upgrade. With the supermajority, he ideally should have pushed for Medicare for all, or at least a public option. I guess the bin laden thing was a positive, but doesn't make him a "hero".
