How do these things get past the gate recycled so many times the caption is blurry on the edges?
There's usually at least two on the front page of politics, and some memers repeatedly do it.
My image was a spoof about reposts, stolen from Reddit. I used the repost to destroy the repost. Kind of the opposite end of the spectrum from this one:
The fun and politics streams use the "Automatically approve posts that appear to be safe-for-work" setting.
The volume in those streams is too high to review everything, some stuff that's against the rules will get through the approval process without a Moderator seeing first. After featuring, some of those images that don't meet the rules will get flagged for review by users, or a Moderator might find them on their own later. Not a perfect system, but I think it's a good balance and a system that works well.
Imgflip removed the "No reposts" rule from the politics stream about a year ago. Some political memers have limited or no creativity, need help with their writers block, or perhaps need help getting blocks through the hole. Allowing reposts in the politics stream has helped them tremendously. They can be proud of their repost accomplishments. Just as I am proud of mine. 😂😂
But still, seeing the theme of the week cramming it with nearly identical captions is bad enough, for someone to just post a pre-made one, what's the purpose of being on a meme making site?
Given how many are made every day (and some rather well done) that don't make it while some individuals keep churning out other people's work is irksome.
Maybe if they can't come up with something other than a recycled, "Russia paid for American Soldiers to get killed in Afganistan? B-B-But Benghazi!," then maybe they should leave that slot for somone who can.

How long has the fun stream been "auto approve SFW?"
I was on a road trip yesterday. Another fun stream mod has cleared the flags.
Not that I would take it down now, but I'm only finding the image here on Imgflip. How you know whether or not the user assembled the image on their own and then uploaded that to Imgflip?
