Having both built and remodeled homes in Memphis, TN I'll certainly agree that our Forefathers built fine homes. The difference being that the house I would build now would be completed and ready for occupancy while our Forefathers would still be pegging and dovetailing the frame together. This occurs due to the upgrading of both equipment and techniques over what some of us refer to as time.

This meme was based upon a study considering the quantity of information on average, not the quality or usefulness therein. Our Forefathers learned more than what was necessary to survive in the times they were in; you can't really say that about their modern day detractors.
