From what I've seen, the protestors aren't the ones doing the rioting and looting, but they, along with the press, are the ones targeted by the police state for violence. The ones doing the rioting and looting are low level opportunists taking advantage of the situation. So why are police attacking peaceful protestors? Maybe it's because they're afraid that they have guns and will fight back.
