I’d also argue that it’s not sensible to think of meme comments as “reposts” at all. I’ve posted this uncaptioned reaction meme dozens of times in response to people. Along with Morgan Freeman Pointing and Thank You Lord Otter and other similar memes.

The meaning of these uncaptioned reaction memes always changes upon the context of the above comment and the accompanying text below.

That's understandable.

That would explain why it would be considered a repost. Without context, the comment is meaningless. The description on the comments thread indicate that the submission should stand on its own. If not, the submitter should add context to the submission explaining what it was in reference to.

They probably thought it was similar to the others you made.
