The point I'm trying to make is that neither party is correct in ideology. An increase in minimum wage actually reduces the size of government, for example. The polarization on each side is makes people incapable of giving in. Repubs should be all over increasing the minimum wage but are dead set against it. To me, their talking points don't align with their actions. That being one example. This is why we need someone in the middle, calling both sides out for their stupidity and leading us on a path forward.
There are multiple ways to return to a free market economy. (We aren't even close right now) Go the Repub route, cut off all subsidies to the working poor. That's fine with me. When people retaliate and riot in the streets, burn businesses down, wages will then increase to meet people's needs. It should be illegal for employers to provide healthcare. Outlaw it. Again, people will take to the streets, burn and riot till prices come down where they need to.
Dems are all too ready to help the needy with a handout. While it may help them it doesn't solve the underlying problem. Costs just keep rising and the pockets of a few get bigger. It's not a cure to the problem.
Sydney, I doubt even you think Trump is a centrist.
A good example in Obama's case was his militarizing of the police force/police state.
