So, in other words...you don't own property.

Got it.

Not that kind of equity. I do own property.

Equity concerns are safety concerns. You can't buy food, you die.

Not in my case. There are people where I work endangering the health of everyone to make sure all the clients get treated equally and that we follow the guideline of equity programs. Health and safety of all staff is more important than somebody's "rights."

I don't think you understand what happens when the government can preempt our rights. Take a look at Polpot or any other socialist/communist/fascist dictatorship. It might not happen in our lifetime but a few generations down the road the government will be dictating who can live and who can die, kind of like they were doing right before the revolutionary war in the US.

In a worst case scenario, I agree with you. In this case, the proposal is to expose workers and clients to an increased risk of contracting COVID-19 so clients can visit with their families. Either discharge them or maintain the current restrictions, but don't try to use the rights of others to justify placing me at risk.

This whole thing is moot because the death rate is super low at 0.4% and falling according to the CDC and the real death toll is extremely low. Basically the people that would have died from the flu, died from covid-19.

Forgive me if I don't take your word for it.

Don't take my word for it, go to a search engine like duckduckgo.com or www.yippy.com and look up the studies yourself and then look on the CDC website for the studies (not their front facing covid messages).

0.4% is such a comfort when you're dead. When there is a vaccine or a treatment then we can talk about equity.

0.4% is less than the flu each year. Why don't we do this every winter?

It is funny to me how we have one side trying to tell us all that there is nothing to worry about, and another trying to tell us that masks don't work and we're all going to die. If you don't survive, who cares about rights? If you dead you can't use them! But if you're alive you can always work to get more rights. Life first.
0 ups, 4y
No. Once rights are gone they don't come back. You have to have a revolutionary war to get them back.

Exactly! I don't care what the death rate is. It doesn't matter. What matters is that they want to expose essential workers to a higher risk for non-essential reasons.

There is no risk unless you have a preexisting morbidity or you are elderly. If you have either you shouldn't be an essential worker in the first place.

Tell that to the newly hospitalized. I won't be risking my life because you do not see a risk.To your other comment, death is more difficult to overcome.

You should do this every year during flu season since it's the same situation.

Clearly you're COVID denier, and I'm not going to convince you otherwise. I have expressed that I will not allow someone crying about their rights to supercede my health. Have a Happy Father's Day.

Lol covid denier. So if I have a different view on a subject than you I'm a denier. I could call you an alarmist by the same measure, but I don't do that because I welcome my view to be challenged by facts and logic so that I can come to know the truth.
