Huh. I wouldn't have expected you to call them smart.

Well, maybe a "rightist"; they can be hard to tell apart.

You mean a grand total of 180 may be a bit high? You could be right.

So you think 'Leftist' is the plural? Doesn't sound like your IQ is particularly high...
2 ups, 5y
Guess that's what happens when your Google Grammar and Google Calculate apps are in the shop.
1 up, 5y
Yep. 180 was too high.

180 is super high. Like, Stephen Hawking high. Your meme was calling Antifa leftists super geniuses. You know that, right?

What he meant was a combined total IQ of 180 for the entirtey of Antifa.

I cannot for the life of me see how that could have been what he meant. He would have had to write "what do you call thousands of leftists" to get to that point.

It was the equivalent of ...

Yeah, basically.

Yes. It takes thousands of leftists to get a combined IQ of 180.

Right. But you didn't say that. And what's worse is that you pretended to do it on purpose.

Just, as a general rule of thumb, if the joke is "they're so stupid!" then - just double check your joke for stupid mistakes on your own end. It's one of things that should just be common sense but for some reason it isn't.

Which is why he used the singular term 'Leftist'? Are you sure he wasn't actually talking about the combined IQ of Conservatives?

To be honest, I'm confused to. I was just saying what I guessed he was trying to get across, despite his poor wording.

Yeah, it is pretty ironic for someone to make a meme about how stupid a group of people are that just makes them look stupid themselves.

Like, the very least that you would expect of a meme that has been created for the sole purpose of stating the stupidity of others is that it doesn't also imply the stupidity of it's creator.

Normally I'm not the grammar nazi type but you earned it:

That should be "its", not "it's".

Difference between you and me is, my "error" was a deliberate mix of singular and plural case for the purpose of a joke. Yours was just slobbiness or linguistic ignorance. Probably both.

Hah!
Normally just the normal Nazi type? Here, have a sticker.

Must suck to "misunderstand" a meme due to "grammatical error", just to make a blatant error yourself and have to resort to name-calling.
1 up, 5y
Name calling?

No. Deliberate mix? No. You just didn't know. Your mistake COMPLETELY inverts the meaning of the joke.

"I blame teachers. What are our kids even learning in school?"

I imagine they do their best, I suspect that some kids are particularly resistant to learning things.

There is likely a correlation between the refusal to accept things like the words you use having meaning and certain groups of people being disproportionally discriminated against. Maybe there's a fear that if you accept basic things like the impact of the words you use, you might end up actually accepting things like that certain groups of people are disproportionally killed by law enforcement.

I get that some people aren't going to want to accept that they have something in common with people that are behaving in an abhorrent way, it's much more comfortable to either refute the facts that you're being given about it or make excuses for the people who are behaving abhorrently.

Of course, you're also going to need to mock anyone who actually agrees that there's a problem so it's clear that you're right. Everybody knows that pointing at someone else and laughing means that you're actually in the right, right?

"No, it's reading words. Your words. The way you wrote them. Because the way you write words has a meaning."

Y'know, I get the impression that a lot of conservatives have a surprising amount of trouble understanding that.

No, it's reading words. Your words. The way you wrote them. Because the way you write words has a meaning.

Oh yes, you are right. Your tenuous grasp of both grammar and math makes me look like such an idiot, have you thought about getting into stand-up?
1 up, 5y
It's not my "tenous grasp" on grammar and math that makes you look like an idiot.

What makes you think it's somebody else's fault?
