Interesting stuff here: Jefferson Davis seemed a bit less willing than General Lee to give up on the Confederacy and the ideas behind it. Both remained pretty racist. As were the vast majority of whites at the time, unfortunately.

But either way, Jefferson Davis wasn’t waving Confederate flags all over the place after the war.
