no, because our human race is stupid and will be apeased with petty promises. but corona is a virus that needs a cure.

All depends. If I knew the riots and the virus would continue if I didn't hit it, like the virus wouldn't go away cuz I didn't press it, I probably would. Better to def get rid of one thing, and keep working on a cure.

Considering that Covid is turning out to be a few fries short of a nothingburger, yeah I'd press it.
