I met a psychologist at a POW Coordinator's meeting who promoted the idea of an inner Nazi. She was a young girl when the Nazis put her entire family in the Aushwitz Concentration Camp in Poland. When a guard callously told her that her parents could be seen in the smoke pouring out of a chimney, whild she cried for her Mother, she experienced a level of hatred that scared her. Even at seven years of age, she realized that hatred had the power to destroy her. She compared the part of her that hated to the part of the guard that caused him to hate a little girl. She said that she refused to let her little Nazi control her behavior, and spent her life encouraging others to do likewise.

How cowardly of you to hide behind a nom d' plume and trivialize, while mischaracterizing, a message aimed at decreasing hatred. Have a nice day.

Yes, my Father died in Dachau. So, you'll forgive me if I find your message insulting to assume we're all Nazis. No matter what good intentions it has or originated from.

I stand by my statement. I did not assume that anyone is a Nazi. You chose to misread it for your own reasons. I equated the hatred that we all can feel with being a little Nazi. I have never met a survivor who had a problem with this . I am sorry that you suddenly discovered that your Father died in Dachau, after I told you my statement's origins. I should be kinder to you. It is not always that I encounter someone on Facebook who is an 80-year old, or older, survivor of Dachau. That, of course, presumes you were a baby when your family was put in the concentration camp. Of course I am sure that you have an amazing story of how your Father was taken into a camp that operated between 1933 and 1945, if my memory from when I visited it is correct, and you were somehow spared.

This is Imgflip, not Facebook. I'm 84 and never said I was survivor of Dachau. And I did not suddenly discover my Father died after you told your statement's origins. You did. Given these silly errors, I'll assume you were sarcastic in your apology. You would do well to abandon that tone if you are to make apologies in the future.

How is it then, that your Father was in Dachau and you were not?

I admire your skepticism. They took my Father while he was at work. He was arrested and sent there. I was not. My Uncle managed to get my Mother and I out by applying for work out of the country.

You're free to not believe any of this of course. I don't much care to volunteer any more information than that. Not unless you'd like to buy me dinner.

I do get what you mean, if that's any consultation. I just don't necessarily agree with the way you put it. After all, I myself parody a former Nazi online. So, I suppose I can't be too outraged but I don't equate hate with the word Nazi. I equate the words Evil. Apathy. Xenophobic. Nationalist. Fascist. Germans did not really hate those they persecuted. They hated themselves. And they wanted someone to blame. And, I just find the idea that everyone being like that appalling. Capable, yes... but to me it's just not the same thing.

I believe you now. My question was more of a test. When I toured Dachau, they said that it originally opened for undesirables, and only took in Jewish adult men after the November "Crystal Nights." You would have been two years old at that time and they did not take children or women at that camp. Peace.

I shouldn't hate all socialists?

As a capitalist, I would recommend not letting negative emotions guide how you respond to those who choose to embrace a failed 19th century economic policy. Capitalism is best when it relies on facts and data, instead of emotions.
