Spammy watermarks can be a reason for a spam disapproval. One suggestion would be to crop watermark(s) out during your creation process.

Honestly tho, there are the fake news pictures that say "create your own news at breakyourownnews.com" on every single one of them, smack-dab in the middle of the picture.

When I took a closer look after the disapproval I saw the watermark, but I didn't even notice it at first honestly.

Thanks

I don't mean to be argumentative here but I've seen worse watermarks on imgflip

Sure, some get through.

Of the streams that have the "No spammy watermarks" Submission Rule (fun, politics, repost, sports, gaming, reactiongifs, cats), some of those have Stream Settings for Moderation with "Automatically approve posts that appear to be safe-for-work".

Some submissions that don't meet the Submission Rules for a particular stream with that setting get auto-approved without a Moderator ever seeing them.

If users see featured image pages that don't meet the rules for that stream, they are free to use the image flag and a Moderator of that particular stream will take a look.

If that tiny watermark is enough to get a meme not featured then the two buttons meme should never be featured

Most templates on Imgflip are imgflip.com/user-meme-templates. Some of those become popular enough to be imgflip.com/memetemplates

Some templates come with watermarks, which can lead to a submission being disapproved. If a user is submitting to a stream with the "No spammy watermarks" rule, they should crop the watermark out or cover the watermark with an image or drawing.

imgflip.com/memetemplate/Drake-Hotline-Bling used to have a watermark, like this example imgflip.com/i/2mi6aw Occasionally Imgflip will replace a meme template with a better image, but that is rare to never these days.

Hi, um imgflip.com/user/SCP-173-Killer got locked out of their account, have no email verified and doesn't remember their password. They have a backup account now, is there any way you can help?

I don't think so, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll reply to their backup account.

I believe the watermark in this template is the person who actually created this cartoon, which is a totally acceptable form of watermark. The original artist always deserves whatever recognition they choose to put on their artwork. What we want to avoid are watermarks from random websites that just grabbed the image and slapped their watermark on it regardless of whether the website is owned by someone who created the artwork.

eyyy but you gotta admit the inherent irony in censoring an evocative Tiananmen Square photo tho

At least it is good to know the Chinese are not hacking ImgFlip

Yet

And wanna know what caps off the irony?

Today marks the 31st anniversary of the Chinese government’s decision to squash the Tiananmen Square protests by sending in tanks

The more you know

I am actually so digging the fact my meme was automatically censored RN

Rebel!
