i will defend my property and my life, and violently if needed. Obama has never supported rioters or anyone who attacks police. you blur the lines to make your arguments. Obama supports peaceful if angry protests because he is against the violence that sparked them and because peaceful protest is a right that Americans have.
if Trump acted to protect lives, that would be great. but what i saw him tweet was that looters would be shot. theft is illegal but does not merit shooting.
Trump had his agents use force to disperse a peaceful protest outside the White House. he doesn't seem to respect the guaranteed rights of anyone but himself.
i know you see what you see. i'm actually very interested in how different people can look at the same events or data and interpret them in very different ways. it seems to come down to preexisting biases that are so strong that people prefer to believe that plain facts must be wrong or misrepresented, or that some unknown, magical something will emerge to show that things were as they thought them to be all along. the history of this is long and colorful. things always resolve the same way, though.
