Change My Mind Meme | If all the governors hadn't ordered lockdowns, which the left supported and still support, there wouldn't be 40 million unemployed | image tagged in memes, change my mind | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
It's not the virus that caused the unemployment. It was the lockdowns. But I understand your obvious attempt to revise history. You're a leftists after all.

Had Presdient Pandemic acted when he should have the social distancing and other recommendations that CDC warned we should follow would have been put in place earlier, and a major study concluded that 36,000 fewer Americans would have died and a significant percent of those infected would not have been. We would have started the recovery and re-opening process earlier and would be back on the road to whatever normalcy is possible. Of course you have to believe the thousands of scientists who have studied and performed within their disciplines, not the rantings of President Pandemic, to make this conclusion. And, in order to buy the lie that he did not know early on, you have to ignore the work of interception, espert analyses and assessments by our intelligence community, of Chinese official communications from civilian and armed forces, concerning the Wuhan outbreak, dating back to 2019. My late Brother Jim was a Chinese language and culture expert for NSA, for years. He described the processes he used to employ and work within, as much as my clearance, need to know and declassification would allow. The NSA and others were keeping out government informed of developments in China, starting last year. Publicly relying on WHO and others creates plausible denial. That is different from the denial of the culpable.

We are not talking about the NUMBER OF DEAD...we are talking about the NUMBER OF UNEMPLOYED...but I understand your need to move the goalpost...you can't defend your claim.

"We would have started the recovery and re-opening process earlier and would be back on the road to whatever normalcy is possible. "

Said without evidence. Thanks for the counterfactual argument that you can't prove.

FACT: Lockdowns caused the unemployment. Not the virus.

FACT: Sweden didn't lockdown. Didn't have a similar increase in unemployed.

Sweden has the highest national death rate per million people, 19, according to the European Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And, the architect of their no-lockdown plan, Anders Tegnell their chief epidemiologist, admitted in a radio interview that it was a mistake.

The virus caused the lockdown. From the CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report of May 8, 2020: "Various factors contributed to accelerated spread during February–March 2020, including continued travel-associated importations, large gatherings, introductions into high-risk workplaces and densely populated areas, and cryptic transmission resulting from limited testing and asymptomatic and presymptomatic spread. Targeted and communitywide mitigation efforts were needed to slow transmission." We knew what was happening in China, much earlier, from our primary intelligence sources.

From a CDC News Conference on February 25:

“As we’ve seen from recent countries with community spread, when it has hit those countries, it has moved quite rapidly. We want to make sure the American public is prepared,” Nancy Messonnier, director of CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters.

“As more and more countries experience community spread, successful containment at our borders becomes harder and harder,” she said.

The CDC urged American businesses and families to start preparing for the possibility of a bigger outbreak. Messonnier said that parents should ask their children’s schools about plans for closures. Businesses should consider whether they can offer telecommuting options to their employees, while hospitals might need to look into expanding telehealth services, she said.

President Panndemic tried to have Dr. Messonnier fired for issuing these early orders. And, researchers at Columbia University released a study showing that 36,000 American lives would have been saved if we acted one week earlier, as she recommended. Soome 54,000 fewer Americns would have died if CDC was allowed to errcommend social distancing two weeks earlier. And, earlier action would have shortened the time the spread was increasing numbers, meaing recovery would have started earlier.

I know that you are going to use a juvenile deflection technique to deny the facts. So, this will be my last reaction to you on the subject.

You move the goalpost AGAIN...we are not talking about the the number of dead, we are talking job losses. Your highlighting Swedens death rate, which is NOT the highest in Europe (Italy, Spain, UK, Belgium, all have higher death rates per million and had lockdowns), is not the subject.

If, as you claim, "the virus caused the lockdown' please explain why, Sweden who has an outbreak, didn't have lockdowns. You can't do it. Why? Because the virus didn't cause the lockdowns. The lockdowns were a policy decision made by the various governors and NOT THE PRESIDENT.
