We are complaining about fake news media owned by just a few mega corporations. It has nothing to do with free market capitalism.

Lol. Do you hear yourself? You're literally proving my point. You're complaining about the results of the thing you say you want.

No. We want open capitalism which is separate from government. These media corporations are propped up by politicians and government regulations and government donations. After Obama's media grant money ran out there was a mass firing of media employees by all mainstream media companies.
That's not capitalism and free market.
That's crony capitalism.

This is not that hard of an idea to grasp: the media post content that gets them the most money. Whatever nuance you have issues with does not change this reality.
If there is money to made off of a certain practice, and you don't outlaw it (and enforce same), people will engage in that practice.
So, complaining about the coverage is asking the media outlets to operate against their own interests. Anger, conflict, relationships, sex... Those things sell. Those things keep eyeballs on the screen. That's why, more and more, you see an angry, combative Dear Leader surrounded by dye-blondes with lots of makeup.

Yes, but you aren't counting the balancing factor. If news stops being news, then people stop trusting them as a news source and go elsewhere. Its why CNN has the lowest ratings of all time and is only open because they have government contracts at airports and jails and are propped up by various 'illegal' laws and government money.

How in the world does what you just said prove that capitalism doesn't lead to news networks sharing content that some people don't like? That's literally my only point... That people who claim to love free market capitalism complain about the "leftist" media when, hello, the media post that content cuz that's what makes them money.

Your little sanctimonious explanation and condescending tone does not disprove the point of the meme. People buy content that free market capitalists AND crony capitalists don't like, and then both groups complain about that content. Some content might come about the way you describe, other content definitely does not.
I can draw you a Venn diagram of that would help. I am not being sarcastic. Some people are visual learners.
Both free market capitalists and crony capitalists are capitalists.
If you think people should be able to produce content that makes them money,you have to accept that you aren't going to like some of the content.
