that is a baby face monster from terraria. we'll get to the dark part in a second. you summon it by using a bone rattle, which you get by defeating the brain of cthulu. once you've done that, it has a chance of dropping the bone rattle. you use it, you get baby face monster. now, the reason it's dark, is because of the crimson. some people tried to make the crimson a GOD and so they sacrificed bodies to the crimson, and some became face monsters. which means, that SOMEONE SACRIFICED A BABY
