Of all the things to celebrate about the South, the Confederate battle flag is the very last one I would ever choose

"Bell patented his device on March 7, 1876, and the device quickly began to spread. By 1877, construction of the first regular telephone line from Boston to Somerville, Massachusetts, had been completed. By the end of 1880, there were 47,900 telephones in the United States."

I'm not sure what "giving me a call" means to you KF89 or anyone reading those words. However, I think in terms of English language usage in 1835 America it would not be the words one would use to describe a way in which someone should contact you about anything. I'm highly suspicious as to the reality of the supposed reprint poster? offering to buy slaves.
After all "giving me a call" sounds much more apt to be words spoken by someone experienced in the use of a telephone and making a telephone call. I am challenged to find any reference to its earliest usage so I can't confirm but i would say the poster is some kind of fakery what with the word usage being unlikely and telephones not being that common until 1880.

Will call definition | image tagged in will call definition | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
“Will call” just means roughly to report for.

Have you ever picked up tickets at a box office? That’s where I hear this phrase used most often these days. Perhaps it meant something slightly different in 1835 as language evolves over time.

There is no real doubt in my mind that this advertisement is real and certainly no doubt that slaves were being bought and sold in the United States in 1835.

The international slave trade was abolished in the U.S. in 1808, but the domestic slave trade continued to flourish.

The eastern slave states such as Virginia and North Carolina, where the primary cash crop was tobacco and the climates weren’t suitable for large-scale plantation farming, became “slave producing states,” and would raise and export slaves south and west.

All this is supported by a voluminous historical record.

Yep. If you go to visit somebody, you're said to "pay a call" on them. The idea that somebody be asked to "call" at a specific location in 1835 doesn't sound the least bit far-fetched.

Hi, to the both of you. Yes I now see the possibilities and there not unlikely usage for sure. Although I can't imagine using the term will call today to mean this, it very well could be used to mean this way back then.
Given the definition of Will-Call a buyer may well have left or had payment available for sellers at the locations listed. Therefore my doubts removed as to the authenticity of poster. Thanks

Lol here we go then

Believe it or not, flag-burning is actually the recommended method of disposal for the American flag...

https://www.wikihow.com/Dispose-of-a-Damaged-American-Flag

It can be considered dignified

I would still never digitally burn the American flag, because I love America :)

if you share a link with it or commented on it, you can get upvotes and views.

I often find that some of my better "fun" memes get many views before they are approved, I think possibly that the owners look at them?
