Customs and public policies are different than guaranteed constitutional rights. Washing hands, avoiding contact, staying 6 ft away are examples of great practices for public health safety, but executive orders from governors or the U.S. President infringing upon our 1st amendment right of freedom of assembly and freedom of religion are blatant violation of our rights. Of course, it may be well-intentioned and effective to reduce the spread of any illness, not just COVID, but it is still nonetheless violations of our 1st amendment rights.
The state and federal government shall not make any infringement on these rights. Of course, they can suggest and recommend practices and people can freely observe them, but citizens cannot be punished for not following these suggestions, otherwise it is a violation of our 1st amendment rights.
