Biden's victory in the primaries was mysterious. He had terrible debate performances, middling fundraising, no ground game or advertising to speak of in the states he won. All of the cringey borderline groping at the public appearances and now he has the Tara Reade thing hanging over his head.
The Ukrainegate stuff does not implicate him or his son as a criminals whatsoever, but the relatively complex issues involved there fly over the heads of most average Americans. Trump and his crew by meddling in Ukraine did not effectuate the announcement of an investigation on him or his son, but they still achieved their ultimate aim of tarnishing him among certain voters.
Out of all the exciting and diverse candidates and ideas in the 2020 primaries, in the end, Democratic primary voters (overwhelmingly, the older crowd of them) turned to a familiar face.
No, Biden's not as bad as Trump (not even close), and I do plan to vote for him. I am going to do my best to defend him, but he doesn't exactly inspire, and that is just being honest.
All that said, he does have some attractive qualities and massive experience and we should try to highlight that in the run-up to November.
