Let me explain why it matters: It's because when we have widespread testing we can say matter of factually that its not worse than the seasonal flu and that all of the lock downs and tyranny by the leftists in power was not only unnecessary it was unlawful. Then we can proceed to hold trials for sedition.

I think the point of the question, tho, was to make Trump appear more heartless than he already appears. He was just incapable of giving a politically correct answer. Or even a politically adequate one besides, "ask China." I don't blame him for being incapable of handling it as it indicates that he is competing so that he improves his chances to be re-elected. Which, honestly, makes total sense. The best he could've done to sidestep this question was say something to the effect of...

"It is awful how many people are dying from this, but we are doing better than other countries thanks to our wonderful healthcare system. It proves it does work (maybe take a shot at universal healthcare, but he's not that politically saavy.)

I think he was just tired dealing with the lying fake media.

According my sources, most conferences don't go more than 45 minutes either. So, saying it abruptly ended an hour in is a bit much.

Uh, Globally, about 7% of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1% of those infected. So, no. This is worse than the flu.

'Globally' three wheelers are the safest vehicle, everyone should ride one.
In places where widespread comprehensive testing has been done, the death rate is less than 0.1% which is comparable to the yearly flu. Look up the studies. As more testing goes on the death rate will continue to drop 'globally' until its under 0.1%.We already know it only affects the elderly and people with preexisting deadly conditions.

Yes, I'm aware that is possible that if more people are tested and test positively the fatality rate will drop. And normally, you'd be right but I do not think you're right about testing being less than .1% where testing has been done.

Since the US has more confirmed cases, and testing, than any other country we make a good control group for the rest of the world. The world fatality rate is 6.8% Right now, our country's fatality rate is sitting at 6.0%. Not a single state has less than 1% fatality rate. Trump's own experts have confirmed this is more dangerous than the flu and yet still you insist otherwise.

But perhaps I am wrong. The data that comes out every day can change and there is so much of it floating around, I would be happy to analyze where you are getting this information where widespread comprehensive testing has been done, and the death rate is less than 0.1%. Are you counting populous to death toll or are you counting cases to fatality? Because the latter is what they are referring to when they say that the flu kills less than .3%.

Thank you. Troubling that this hasn't been updated in two weeks, but still, I'll mull it over. They appear to be the same study. I should say, one or two studies do not necessarily confirm that covid is as deadly as the seasonal flu. It has also not been peer reviewed. Still, since I'm actually hoping to be wrong, I'll happily digest this to see if there is anything I can actually pick apart that is more detrimental than it simply being an outdated, outnumbered, unreviewed study... Those don't necessarily make it wrong, after all.

Here is a link to the pdf of the actual study with the latest updates...

It looks like they took a 0.5% death rate and then calculated backwards to get other data. That doesn't help us determine the death rate.

Beat me to it.

Yeah, and according to their data, the entirety of New York City would've been infected in February which they deemed very unlikely in the first article. Still, some merit would be nice. Until then, I'd rather people play it safe and government not exacerbate it. Nor undermine scientists by claiming it'll all get better. The simplest answer about Covid-19 is... we simply don't know.

What we do know, according to the current data... it's above 1%. That's deadlier than any virus in 100 years.
