I'm struggling to name one country (period) where the leaders are as poor as the citizens.

Every Free Market country has citizens with more wealth than the ruling class. The power to tax has allowed the national ruling class to amass vast wealth, but in republican forms of government, the closer to the citizens the government, is the financial statements of the leaders and citizens becomes almost equal to the citizens they represent. For example, small towns and counties.

So why doesn't your meme say "hey socialists, please name one socialist country where there are citizens wealthier than the leaders"?
