I was informed by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Environmental Health that they do not enforce social distancing on sidewalks or streets. Might this be a contributing factor to Los Angeles County's higher number of cases and deaths than other surrounding counties in Southern California?

Interesting, I went to my local Lowe's in Washington a couple of days after my governor allowed construction to reopen and the entire parking lot was full except for a few spots hear and there.

In the 10+ years I've been going to that store I've never seen the parking lot so full and there was no line out in front of the store???

The wholefoods Nextdoor has a 50 person limit in the store with a line down the side of the store while giving out masks.

All I can tell ya is it doesn't matter what Party is in control of any state they all seem to not have their $h!t together.

I agree with all of your examples.

Although I personally think it's more politicians trying to keep the present power and control they have now, Of course violating our right to freedom and civil rights.

Ugh, the longer they allow the transmission of the disease, the longer everyone else has to wait.
There are protests in Pennsylvania about wanting to reopen, but they recently reported a high number of new cases.
It’s like it’s never going to end.
I’d really like to know where people are catching it. Delaware and Pennsylvania both have mask orders in place.
We had our first case at work, in my building, reported Friday.
Wishing you the best :-)

Well you've got to be better than here. They want to keep us in confinement here in California until they have a vaccine.
They said it was to make sure there were enough medical services...now it's something else.
Personally what I think it comes down to is it runs in the family considering Gavin Newsom is Nancy Pelosi's nephew. And I'm sure you know it all looks corrupt.
About the number of cases, the lab results are higher with the more people they test, and can be delayed for days, and the labs don't report on the weekends, so the numbers in the beginning of the week can be higher. In addition has Pennsylvania had a high number of nursing home cases?
Sigh. We have mask orders in place here too.
I'm sorry to hear about the case at your building. I do hope you are ok. :)

Wow, staying closed until there’s a vaccine might be medically wise, but devastating in all other ways.
I looked into the Pennsylvania nursing home cases, over 2700 residents had died, which is 2/3 of the state total.
Delaware is trying to slowly reopen, but it’s weeks away from anything useful.
Pennsylvania has allowed more counties to open, but not where I work.
Southeast PA is where Philly is, so I’d expect it to be last to open.
Doing ok here, and sending you good wishes :-)

Sorry it took me so long to respond.
Nursing home deaths seem to be a problem here too, except here they don't want to add that number to the total. Although they do mention it quite frequently.
And as I'm sure you know the curfew continues out here this morning too. So anything that was going to reopen isn't going to at least not today.
I'm glad to hear you're doing ok and I send you good wishes too. It's got to get better. :)

Hi, no worries about taking a while to reply.
As much as the virus disrupted life, and Delaware entered Phase-1 of reopening yesterday, all of that pales in significance in light of all this rioting.
It’s hard to believe what I am seeing on the news.
Luckily, it isn’t happening locally, but I was just reading that it is near you.
I pray it somehow stops before turning into an all out war.
I wish you peace and safety!!!!!
God Bless you :-)

Thank you for all of your well wishes.
I'm glad to hear that your area is starting to open again.
Los Angeles county was in an escalated Phase 2 of reopening. But after the devastation here who knows now. We're under curfew.
My building is downtown and is boarded up now, like many others in the city. It was kind of odd being outside on May 30th, and seeing all the people walking around with boxes and other stuff they looted. Also it is interesting how the city is trying to downplay the number of business' that were vandalized or looted. Or watching T.V. while the police are focused on the peaceful protesters and the few antagonists while the rest of the city was being looted. This city has lots of problems.
I hope it stops soon too, because I am hearing comments from some people about civil war. We can only hope it never gets to that.
I hope your safe and wish you much peace too. :)

Glad to hear from you, sorry I’ve been off the site for a while.
I can’t imagine seeing all this up close.
I read a story about the Music Center being looted and thought of you immediately.
My very first time talking to you was about music and you made a meme to use to promote a music fest or something.
I was concerned that you had ties with the music center.
Either way, it sounded like an important part of the community.
As far as the virus, we go to phase 2 on June 16th
I pray for peace and wish good things for you :-)

I haven't been around much the last year or so either for different reasons. So don't worry about it.
It was not fun. Some business' are reopening but not all, I've also heard the story from the lady at the Music Center, it's so sad. Unfortunately I haven't been doing a lot of music stuff lately, mostly stuff associated with the city. Not a lot of fun.
Maybe it was a show or part of a song that I liked or from a band I was helping. Or it might have been information on how bands can go overseas and play for the troops.
No ties with the Music Center but I feel really bad for them.
I will admit there are a lot of people who own business' in the city that do give back to the community in their own ways.
After the protests were allowed, I don't understand how the government can continue restricting the business' that can open. I wish us all good luck.
I hope good things come to you too and wish you much peace. :)
