Cinco de Mayo (May the 5th) is just the commemoration of the battle of Puebla (A mexican city) where the mexican army fought against the french army and made them retreat. Somehow that celebration spreaded to the whole US. I don't know to me it's just Santa Claus in the Coke commercials. I mean a made up October fest but with sombreros, nopales,mezcal and nachos.
