Everything in life is case-by-case and should be treated as such. One size fits all doesn't really work well in this thing called reality. Allowing the freedom to respond to this virus based on your specific case is the best way. But that involves too much trust/faith for people I suppose.

You are correct. I take my car to a mechanic, he tells me what is wrong, and I make the decision to fix it or not.

Virologists tell me what they think they know, which so far has shown they know very little about this virus. They make suggestions on what precautions can be taken and then the decision is up to me to decide what to do. This is the same with any medical condition. It is not the government's job to make these decisions for me.
