The point isn't a treatise on making you believe in God, but that there are many different opinions and allowing others the right of free speech. My proposed book is about the brainwashing that has developed over the years at colleges and universities where the cloistered / ivory tower atmosphere has led to a decline in the exchange of free thought. It's okay that you are an atheist. Your free-thinking has allowed you to arrive at that conclusion. I would defend you were you physically assaulted for being an atheist just as I would defend someone attacked by the violent leftist antifa (ANTI First Amendment) for their belief in God, Guns and/or Free Speech. America was founded by those who felt that there are inalienable rights. When someone wants to take away a RIGHT, even if you don't care about it, you must fight to protect it. Why do they call it a right? Because taking it away is Wrong. There are those who have backed themselves into a corner intellectually. They can't argue anymore, but selfishly believe that theirs is the only way. So, they bully —either intellectually or even physically to control you. You, my fellow memer, because of your free thinking are just one of the ones in danger. There's an old prose poem in several forms from the 1946 Post World War II era. One version reads:
First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Catholic.
