Why are Disney Parents always so dead?

Walt Disney's mother died a horrible death. He blamed himself so he made the characters in the stories know how it feels. And even after he died it kinda just stuck.

That was Rapunzel’s “fake mother” who got killed, her real one did not.

Oh yea, the list isn't exhaustive and is mostly for the older movies but pretty much every Disney movie has a missing parent or 2. Some say it's because Walt Disney's own mother died tragically.
