Disinfectant can literally refer to any number of substances. Not just bleach or lysol. So "inject disinfectant" is extremely nonspecific.

In context, he was referring the disinfectant properties of light. So he was basically saying inject light, which isn't possible given a standard interpretation of inject.

However, he was trying to talk about (in layman's terms) an experiment therapy that combines a light therapy with intubation of the lungs. He certainly wasn't saying "go get it" he was saying it was interesting.

The problem is, as president, he is briefed on a wide variety of information, development, ect. Not all of it needs to be communicated to the public. Some of it is too early in development or testing to be useful to the average person. Much of it was technical beyond his expertise and had to be dumbed down in the first place. He need to get better at selecting what he passes on.

Well stated. Thanks for posting what I consider to be the only objective critical comments about what Trump said, that I've seen on imgflip.

Trump is, as you pointed out, prone to speaking out too soon, with not enough details, based on not enough information, and to compound the problem, he's simply not a good communicator in press briefings. He's fine at political rallies when he's firing up his base, because they lap it up. Or, even in one-on-one interviews. But when he's speaking in any other format, I think he needs to go 'Joe Friday' and stick to just the facts.

With all that having been said, I think the press is equally guilty in a case like this. They bait him (which he should ignore), they pounce on anything he says that they can twist and misrepresent to the American people, a large segment of whom laps it up, without bothering to check for the accuracy of what they're being fed. Anyone who thinks they're not out to get him, is naive, imo.

It's just a mess, all the way around.

I saw What I saw and heard what I heard . But a certain political group here on Imgflip try very hard to convince me not to believe my lying eyes or my lying ears. Surrealism 101

If you haven't seen what boredmeme posted, I think it would be worth your while to check it out.

Trump is a blustery ego-maniac, and he shoots his mouth off without knowing all the facts. His motives are not necessarily bad. In this case, he may have been talking about the treatment that this article talks about: https://apnews.com/b44f4531071e6204023f7b8e16f59d4b

Or possibly not. It's hard to tell sometimes. As someone else here on the flip suggested, even if he were talking about that treatment, or something similar, it's probably too early to be discussing it in a format like the press briefing.

Regardless, I think you are more likely to believe whatever the press, who clearly hates him and cannot be objective about him, says than you are to check into what they report, just in case they might have lied to you, or misrepresented what he said. Apologies in advance if that's not true.
