What "conservative media-verse?" Are you referring to the honest media? For your information, the media has been withholding the truth from you for quite some time. The only change is that America finally has a President that offends you and your media.

What If I Told You mainstream media | image tagged in what if i told you mainstream media | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Yeah, the whole “truth is measured by how much liberals are offended” thing that Timber and others push is not actually a great standard for determining whether a thing is true or not.

Example: Trump suggests we look into the potential for disinfectant and UV light to fight Covid-19. The mainstream press and liberals harshly criticize him, or in Trump-speak, “lose their minds.” Because it was true? No! Because it was wrong and dangerous to suggest that in public.

Now, I won’t tell you that mainstream media gets 100% of the stories right 100% of the time. But they are consistently better than fringe alternatives: much better.

And if it weren’t for a press that stood independent of the President, and didn’t hesitate to criticize him when he erred, we’d live in a dictatorship.

Aaaaaand that is where we are going to disagree. Even if Trump suggested something dangerous, if the same words came out of the mouth of Pelosi, the media would be worshipping the idea. I will agree with you that most of what the media says is true, but how much they withhold from us is an even bigger problem leading it to be a lie in itself. Such as the fact that Fauci is the one working on our COVID vaccine. That would be like if Trump were to advertise what he is selling on world news. Know how the press was once unbiased? The only way Democrat leaders can push their stupid agenda is by using the media to influence the nation. They KNOW they lose if control over the media is lost. Because if they don't have something on your TV, it must be false.

Rep. Pelosi wouldn’t be saying anything that ignorant. And no, the media wouldn’t give her a free pass for saying it, either.

I realize this may come as a shock to you, but the “mainstream media” isn’t beholden to any one party. The media reports reality and, unfortunately, that reality is not generally agreeable with what the President last said.

Sometimes Trump’s right — he’s been too inconsistent on Covid-19 to not be right at least *some* of the time — but it’s a broken-clock kind of thing.

The media records and reports it all.

Yep, but the fun thing about liberal bots is when you get the chance to flex your knowledge and win every argument.

What has "Speaker of the House" Pelosi said that is "far, far more ignorant"?

If you're going to denigrate someone, at least provide some backing evidence.

"Building the Wall will violate the rights of millions of illegals"
They are illegals... they don't have rights in America. Nuff said

“Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs.”
The stupidity in this quote is the fact that we only have 300 million Americans.

“Pass the bill to find out what’s in it”
Americans would flip out if Trump passed a Bill without telling us what was in it.

“Hamas is a humanitarian organization.”
Hamas is a terrorist organization. The reason she defends Hamas is because Trump protects Israel

“Having five children in six years is the best training in the world for Speaker of the House.”
Hmmmmm... Then why isn't that a requirement?

“Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if the Republicans win the Senate.”
Oh dear, oh my! The world is ending! Nope, life carries on WITH the republicans in the senate.

“If women have confidence in themselves, they will have confidence in other women.”
So because I am confident in myself, I will have confidence in other men? NO! We have idiots everywhere!

Well there's a few, I got more if you want to hear em.

“Having five children in six years is the best training in the world for Speaker of the House.”

This is indeed an impressive achievement if you think about it. She was talking about the multi-taking, scheduling, and compromise skills needed to succeed in that role. That said, I don't think it should be a requirement and I don't think she'd say that either.

Apologies for the long URL, but here is the quote in context as it appeared in Pelosi's book:

Yeah, this is hyperbolic nonsense, but you can't tell me Republicans don't engage in the same kind of heated rhetoric all the time.

“Hamas is a humanitarian organization.”

Nope, Pelosi doesn't defend Hamas. She was talking about the difficulties of resolving a crisis diplomatically when one of Hamas's partners, the Qataris, think that way.

The full quote in the proper context: "And we have to confer with the Qataris, who have told me over and over again that Hamas is a humanitarian organization."

https://cnsnews.com/news/article/susan-jones/pelosi-qataris-have-told-me-hamas-humanitarian-organization
0 ups, 4y
She didn't seem to have a problem with Qataris thinking that way. Even if you are right, I don't really care to think of Pelosi as a patriot who would fight for Israel.

If the sentence was taken out of context, then I would advise doing further research in case the others are similar. I would think not though.

Politifact, Factcheck, and the Washington Examiner (a conservative source!) all agree that she never said this.

“Pass the bill to find out what’s in it”

Yeah: Out of context, it sounds pretty bad, but she wasn't talking about not having read the bill or urging others not to read it. She was talking about controversies and invented right wing claims around the Obamacare bill.

Long one to get the proper context, so you'll have to bear with me here:

"We have to (cooperate on the health bill) in partnership, and I wanted to bring [you] up to date on where we see it from here.

"The final health care legislation that will soon be passed by Congress will deliver successful reform at the local level.

"It will offer paid for investments that will improve health care services and coverage for millions more Americans.

"It will make significant investments in innovation, prevention, wellness and offer robust support for public health infrastructure.

"It will dramatically expand investments into community health centers. That means a dramatic expansion in the number of patients community health centers can see and ultimately healthier communities.

"Our bill will significantly reduce uncompensated care for hospitals.

You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. But I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket.

"Prevention, prevention, prevention–it’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s going to be very, very exciting.

">>>>>> But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.<<<<<"

There was endless debate and discussion about the Affordable Care Act. It wasn't rammed through in the dead of night as this out-of-context quote makes it sound.

You are quite a fast typer and you make a strong debate. I don't agree with much "care" that comes from the government. Both my parents lost their jobs under government ran health care. The government will ALWAYS find a way to make citizens pay what is unnecessary.

You must have missed where I've already debunked or provided the missing context that make the Pelosi quotes DanielHenderson referenced not so bad.

Even if they were all true or properly situated in context by DanielHenderson, none of them are as ignorant or dangerous as suggesting an internal cleansing with disinfectants or UV treatment with respect to Covid-19.

When I criticize Trump -- and I do, because the President is not above criticism, as we don't live in a dictatorship -- I do so with publicly available information.

If you think anything I say is unfair, continue to feel free to point it out.

Hope this helps.

Trump, April 23: "A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you’re going to test that too. Sounds interesting, right? And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it’d be interesting to check that. So that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful."

https://www.factcheck.org/2020/04/the-white-house-spins-trumps-disinfectant-remarks/

This is the entire quote.

I find the "injection inside or almost a cleaning" and the "tremendous number on the lungs" are the most concerning parts of this. And in the entire context, I do find it to be a suggestion.

The official rating of this quote from Fact check by FactCheck.org: "You Be the Judge."

Indeed, you be the judge. It's all we can do.

Everyone knows what chemotherapy is. If that's what he meant, maybe he should have said that.

It's not a treatment I've heard anyone else suggest with Covid-19, but it may have sounded less ridiculous if he'd phrased it that way.

Then again: the veneer of scientific plausibility that the word "chemotherapy" conveys may have only encouraged more people to self-administer disinfectant chemicals, or quack doctors to hop on the new bandwagon, like a few did last time with the hydroxychloroquine stuff.

How about this: Trump doesn't suggest any more treatment ideas in public until they've been shown to work through high-quality clinical trials, and in the meantime, he steps back and lets Dr. Fauci and the other adults in the room do the talking?

The fact that they would censor Pelosi's "famous quotes" does not shock me. And oh does she have quite a few good ones. Has Trump been wrong? Yes. Has he been wrong the majority of the time? No. Most of what they are blaming Trump for they should be taking to a politically unbiased professional.
