When LGBT is “Left Science” but also Trump is the first incoming President to support gay marriage

If Trump cares about the LGBT community, then how come he banned trans people from the army?

A good point. Like a lot of the rest of the country, he's lagging behind on trans rights.

So he still has work to do in that regard. But at least he apparently supports gays and gay marriage.

I see your point, but he is definitely a homophobe. I have two moms, and from their mouths themselves they said the way he talks about gay people is very offensive, and he only did it for people to support him.

I get it.

When he ran in 2016, he was actually one of the less homophobic of the GOP primary candidates. Less than Ted Cruz and most of the others who were running. On the campaign trail, he actually did say things like "I love the gays." Unclear how much me meant it, but at least he said it.

That said, I'm not going to claim he's some kind of leader on this issue, because he's not.

I'm trying to get conservatives to see that their dear leader isn't as backwards on this issue as they are.
