Haha! Dante's Inferno is basically fanfiction, there are people he didn't get on with there and he gets to hang out with his favourite authors.

Yes, you can just make this stuff up. There have been more people than him to venture what Hell is through the medium of poetry or literature and not all of them match the visuals that Dante dreamed up.
