LOL! Just watched Superstar...you were right about Alice being pissed at the missed opening cue! Enjoy the show Washington! :)

Actually liked it better this time, but still not as much as the movie. I think in this version Judas absolutely stole the show and really liked Sara Bareilles as Mary (probably more than Yvonne Elliman), but I think Ted Neely did a tremendous job (no matter what the critics say)

LOL! What, Superstar didn't start on time out there? I agree that Judas stole the show and Sara Bareilles was wonderful! :) I saw the movie with Ted Neely when released in theatre in 1973/74 and loved it! IMHO Neely as Christ, was only outdone by one of the greatest vocalists of all times...(Deep Purple's) Ian Gillan...when I think "Jesus Christ"...I think Gillan! :) Deep Purple played here back in 2012 (I still can't believe it) and Ian Gillan's voice was still amazing...another one of those wickedly surreal concert experiences for me! :) I just watched/listened to Gillan as Christ on youtube (I will give you the link) singing "Gethsemane (I only want to say)"...it's a crappy video but the audio's good. I had never seen it before and got chills when Gillan started singing...nobody hit those screaming high notes like Gillan! :) Monday, Monday, so good to me...Monday mornin', it was all I hoped it would be...have a lovely day and stay safe my friend! :)
here's the link...enjoy!

Great vocal! Thanks! Last night after the show, against my better judgement we watched the movie (tired this morning)...my apologies toYvonne Elliman, she and Sara are both awesome. Deep Purple is definitely on our Piss Off The Neighbors Karaoke playlist, however our least requested song is actually Burn which is David Coverdale. Crazy day, We're in the middle of a minor crisis so I don't have the opportunity to be too wordy. Have a great rest of the day and tell me why I don't like Mondays. :-)

I'm hoping that your Ruby Tuesday will be much better than your Monday! :) I had forgotten about Coverdale taking over after Gillan left Deep Purple...I do remember Coverdale in Whitesnake though...and their "big hair" LOL! Funny that you mentioned "pissing off neighbours" music...yesterday I took a short drive to a little fishing village called "Petty Harbour" (no, not Tom Petty Harbour LOL!) parked and shoved "Welcome To My Nightmare" into the cd player. Many heads were turned as people passed by this old man listening to such "carnival/exorcist" sounding music! LOL! Alice helped put me in a really good mood! :) You should definitely submit that BERN meme...my first thought was "Deep STATE ~ BERN" LOL! Take care my friend and turn the music up LOUD! :)

LOL! Good day and welcome to "Tuesday Afternoon". That looks like a really cool fishing village. I've made several trips up The Inside Passage to Alaska and there are a lot of great towns like that, but I don't recall any being quite that picturesque. Pretty sure I never blasted any Alice, but I remember one trip headed south on a tender where the engineer and I put a Buddy Holly cassette on 8 track mode and listened to it until the music died (we also had a Hollies Greatest Hits and some Thorogood). I will submit that meme, but I think I wanna punch up some of the Photoshop...hopefully ready for you know what Sunday. 'Til Wednesday have a great day and turn some heads! :-)

LOL! Both Joe and Bernie look pretty good with long hair! :) "North To Alaska" eh? Were you sailing up there on a boat or a ship...or "did you drove or did you flew?" LOL! George Thorogood and The Destroyers was one of the first bands that I ever saw in concert wayyyy back in the late 70's...I am getting "flashbacks" now! LOL! Several movies have been filmed in our Petty Harbour over the years..."Orca" back in the late 70's and more recently "Aquaman". It's a crisp, calm and sunny day here so I'm thinking about another "road trip" with Frank Zappa's "Apostrophe" as the musical score..."Watch out where the huskies go and don't you eat that yellow snow!" LOL! Have a great "hump day" :)

Lol! Orca Winfrey...I remember when that movie came out, but I don't think I've seen it all the way through. I also remember when Richard Harris (Dave Thomas) made an appearance on Mel's Rockpile and sang his updated version of "MacArthur Park" (all roads lead to SCTV). Rockin' Mel Slirrup had a cameo at the last Rush concert in Seattle. I made the trip with my dad a couple of times in his boat and once on a salmon tender. On the tender we started in Bristol Bay (Naknek) went through Unimak Pass (white knuckles), across The Gulf Of Alaska, rendered The Humpies From Hell (pink salmon) out of Ketchikan then on down to Seattle and Olympia. Furthermore, I'm a Husky (University Of Washington 1981-1985)...see how it all ties together! As far as the Zappa goes I'd take it to 11 if I were you (it's 1 louder than 10 you know)...Rock On Newfoundland! :-)

Orca/Winfrey/MacArthur Park all wrapped up in one meme...you're good! LOL! I think that Oprah has slimmed down a bit and is now only the size of a tuna! :) Yes, all roads lead to SCTV...either that or we've been watching way too much TV! LOL! Your trips up to Alaska sound wonderful! In my younger days I was "just a singer in a rock n' roll band" and we sailed up to Goose Bay, Labrador on a ferry for a week long gig at one of their night clubs. The trip took about 36 hours one way... 5 of us bandmates and a light/soundman sleeping in one cabin was an experience all on it's own! LMAO! Oh, I never had the chance to attend a Zappa concert, but faintly remember seeing "Captain Beefheart" back in the mid 70's (not sure if you know of him?) All fine on the east coast...take care west coast! :)

May have already used this template, but when there's a Moody Blues reference I can't resist. We saw The Days Of Future Passed golden anniversary concert in 2017 (sans Ray Thomas) and for the second half of the show they played the complete album. What was the name of your band? I only had to share a state room with the engineer, but we both did the noon to 6 and the midnight to 6 wheelwatch. Every morning around 5 I would swear to myself that if I could keep my eyes open 'til 6 I would make a beeline to my bunk and sleep for 5 hours and 59 minutes. Every morning at 6 the Engineer would say, "C'mon, just one drink" and the rest is history. Never had the chance to see Zappa or Captain Beefheart (or both)...I lived such a sheltered life. All Quiet On The Western Front, Let me know if The Sun Also Rises. :-)

Happy Friday west coast! :) The ABC TV comedy show "Fridays" from the early 80's just popped into my head...and poor old "Kramer" LOL! My upcoming ZZTop/Cheap Trick concert has been re-scheduled for next May...although if everyone has to sit six feet apart, they may have to do 3 shows! LOL! I am glad that you didn't encounter any "perfect storms" during your time at sea...I have great respect (fear more-like) for the power of the ocean...I think that I would rather "flew in than float in" LOL! The name of our band was "Air Tight" (not BIG Hair Tight LOL!) 2 Guitars, Bass, Drums and me (I should have learned how to play guitar but had enough on me plate learning how to sing!) One of my favourite covers was Queen's "Tie Your Mother Down"...the crowd couldn't dance to it but we had great fun doing it...that song rocks! :) Sorry for the long post and the tales of future past! :) Have a fun and happy Friday, Captain Stubing sir! LOL!

What a coincidence! (is that really surprising any more?) We saw Cheap Trick last summer in Ferndale. Robin and Rick are still bringing it and one of my greatest regrets is that I didn't spring for better seats. I saw them in '82 with Bun E. on their "One On One" tour which was supporting the single "She's (Air) Tight"...see what I did there? That was the tour where Rick debuted his five neck guitar and they did "Day Tripper" and at the end of the song Rick flipped his guitar over to reveal The BeTles logo on the back. My junior year in high school I got a cassette stuck in my tape deck with "Budokan" and "Bohemian Rhapsody " and "You're My Best Friend " on it...I must have listened to that cassette a hundred times..."All right Tokyo!!!" Have a great one! Friday I'll have Friday on my mind...The Easybeats...lead guitarist George Young...older brother to Angus and Malcolm...wordy!!! :-)

Come Saturday Morning (The Sandpipers) LOL! I have seen Cheap Trick twice...they played outside on George Street in the rain to only 500 people or so (it was unbelievable that they played here at all!) A couple of years before that in the fall of '97, my girlfriend got us Cheap Trick tickets at The Showbox in Seattle...ever been there? Bun E. was there and Rick was flickin' guitar picks into the audience...one hit me in the forehead and fell to the floor...the crowd was so thick that there was no way of picking up that souvenir! LOL! Love your Meme Police! I am thinking about a "ZZTop/Cheap Trick Tour Cancelled" meme...i dunno, "We Surrender/Ain't That A Shame"? :) Have a lovely day, west coast...beauty of a day here...as we Newfoundlanders would say "The sun...she's splittin' the rocks!" :)

LMAO! Another Saturday Night (Sam Cooke) The Showbox has been in the news lately. A developer from Vancouver bought it and wanted to turn it into condos. A group of Showbox supporters (including Duff Mckagan) protested and Seattle turned it into an historic landmark to prevent development. The owner then turned around and sued Seattle for $40 million and Seattle settled for $1 million last fall. I believe the settlement leaves the door open for somebody else to buy The Showbox and run it as a venue. Haven't heard much about it lately. Never sat close enough to catch a Rick Neilson pick, but years ago I got hit in the chest by a pick at an Alice show (fortunately I was able to pick it up) and in our front row Alice adventure Nita Strauss looked straight at me and tossed me a pick. Here's a really week connection (worthy of a Kevin Bacon stretch). "Come Saturday Morning" was covered by Mark Lindsay (as a solo act) who was the lead vocalist in Paul Revere And The Raiders who had a guitarist who had a daughter that I went to school with (oh well, I tried lol). Glad you're having the sun...we're experiencing liquid sunshine (and twelve muddy paws). Enjoy your Bad Photoshop Sunday Eve, east coast and don't forget to hang your stocking...peace! :-)
