Face mask mandates from the Overlords are just security theater. Wearing one in public is little more than a security blanket.

Except the virus doesn't promenade hand in hand but travels by vapor droplets.
Which are absorbed by the fabric of the mask.

There is no claim that N95 can filter out all viruses etc. Imagine how much less personal protection for the generic dust masks most people are using, and for which no protection is claimed.

It's a moot point because coronavirus is nothing special. No doctor has said that it is significantly more dangerous than the existing strains. Being exposed to it is not a danger for those in good health. And main mode of transmission is by touching objects.

Fear gets funding, and the world runs on money. That’s the entire reason for this virus scare. Fear gets funding. Follow the damn money. Fear gets funding. A local news stations proclaims “Facts, not fear!” ... then runs the most dramatic, fear-based story they can find on the AP wire.

Remember, knowledge about coronaviruses has been around for years. You are right — this virus is nothing special and is simply a mutated strain of other viruses we’ve studied for decades. The CDC has simply caved to uneducated (but popular) opinion by reversing their advice about face masks.

It's not just the masks, six feet apart is a joke unless you are in direct sunlight or high powered UV lamps.

The whole thing would be laughable if millions and millions of people weren't being unemployed and in danger of losing everything. It's bad enough that there are sick people dying but we're making the "cure" worse than the original illness.

And the air you breathe in will aerosolize that vapor and make the virus airborne.

Yep! And imagine how I feel wearing my floppy, dirty, week old surgical mask at work all day:(
