Are we getting the cost-benefit analysis right? This is my prediction. I hope it is wrong.

i’m becoming way more violent of a person now.

I feel like people will just be like "phew. That sucked. Now let's act just how I did before." We might have a new sense of relief but other than that, some people will still be jerks and some people will still be nice and some people will still be a bit of both.

I made this meme earlier this evening when I was in a weird mood. I feel better now.

In this moment, I am hopeful when we get to the other side of this, however long it takes, people will re-emerge into the world with a renewed sense of purpose and appreciate the freedoms we once took for granted.

A lot will depend on our policymakers' response. Both from a public health standpoint and also economically. Specifically: Will average folks' needs be met? Will those involuntarily laid off by this unprecedented societal shutdown get the help they need? Unemployment benefits? Mortgage assistance? Student loan deferment?

There are a lot of issues to be worked out, but I am hopeful those in Congress and state legislatures can put aside their partisanship to work together on this. The relief bill passed by the House last Saturday with bipartisan support and minimal opposition was promising, and I hear they are working on a new one.
