Diagnostics are not ordered by individuals - they're ordered by doctors. If you want a test, you'll go to your doctor who will determine if a test is necessary based on symptoms - like any other illness (real or perceived)

Trump made it sound like anybody off the street could stop in at any facility and get a test like they'd get a flu shot.

The only people who heard it that way are those who don't understand how healthcare diagnostics work - who cares what those people understand. There are people who think the world is flat. I have zero concern for the thoughts of the ignorant.
