Something that may aid in overcoming a fear of height.
Is recognizing that the fear of falling is often the bigger component of the fear than the height itself. Whatever way it affects you it will have more than just the height aspect at play.
You probably have little issue going up in a 50 story building unless you are looking out windows to the ground or go on a roof deck etc. Same as you also have probably overcome most fear when flying in an airplane.
Personally I overcame my fear of heights by recognizing that the possibility of falling was what was the issue and it enabled me to overcome my fear of heights. I also took small steps to overcome the dread of elevated locations. The small steps are key if you wish to be free of the fear.
You could try walking the outside stairs of a building until you cant go higher. Then when stopped, breathe, relax if possible and remind yourself that you are not going to fall. If possible try moving higher up that staircase. This procedure repeated over a series of sessions should be helpful and if you find you top out. Then revisit another day and go to at least the old max height and then try ush on. I could do the skydiving now even though I have no desire too provided I was with parachute when going on plane.
