I guess that make sense

After looking at memes for a VERY long time, I came up with an answer:

•every meme has a certain amount of points
•upvote = +1 point
•downvote = -1 point
• 1 day the meme is up = -10-15 points
• flag = -10 points
• multiple flags of the same kind = -∞ points (meme taken down) (unless that sort is NSFW, in wich case it loses 10 points and is marked NSFW)

If a MOD or someone who knows more than me wants to correct me, go ahead.

A few years ago there was an up/down vote counter on each meme. Butthurt was to blame for its removal.

Downvotes give you the point, but nothing for the creator of the meme.
