If my daughter was getting punished for doing this at her school, they'd quickly regret it. What many parents don't seem to understand is we as tax payers own those schools and we should be running them, not the government. They work for us, not us for them.

Children with autism don't understand boundaries and can go way over them if not reigned in early. The school has to protect the other students as well. His classmates might not have welcomed the advances but a child with autism wouldn't understand that.

That 11 year old is just absolutely appalling.

Think of the whack parents who allowed and supported this kid in becoming something else and now the kid is just sick in the head believing he can chose what gender to be.

What are you talking about? His parents got advice from a therapist.
Do you understand what drag is?

"...who've allowed and supported this kid in becoming something else..."

You mean having a career?

Would you find it appalling if an 11 year old girl wore a wig and make up?

1. Fire the idiot therapist.
2. Yes I know what drag is.
3. A career of a minor dressing as a girl and going to a gay bar is unacceptable. Who allowed this?
4. No, I would not have a problem with that.

1. For what reason?
2. Hooray
3. That's not his career, do some research,
he's had advertising work
4. Why do you think it's ok for a girl to
dress up but not a boy?

1. Because the therapist recommending something so degraded shows that the therapist is either a wacko or just stupid.
2. I’d rather not do research on that subject.
It’s ok for a girl to wear makeup and a wig because that is something established as feminine. To say that a boy can do so too is going off the knowledge that both genders are the same, which they aren’t.

Make up, wigs and stockings have previously been viewed as masculine though.

*points at founding Fathers*

Both male and female actors wear make up and wigs.

That right there. You know I’m talking about men dressing up as women, not 1700s tradition. So you put a very dumb example to try to prove your point while at the same time acting like you don’t know what I mean because you have jo other response.

Are you saying that the opinion of someone with no relevant qualifications holds more weight than an experienced therapist.

As far as I can tell, they are supporting their son's successful career: he seems happy, they seem happy, why aren't you happy?

Here's a question I want you to answer very carefully: is it normal for a boy to dress like a girl in drag? Or a girl to dress and act like a boy?
1 up, 4y,

Little boys wear their mom's shoes or necklaces all the time. Would you feel better if he was pulling his classmate's hair that he had a little crush on? That's been considered "normal" for decades, maybe even centuries but where does that lead?
1 up, 4y,
1 reply
Boys are just being boys. Even if he play dress up, that doesn't mean that he can "transitioned" himself to be a girl.
You're still a boy when you're a transvestite. Same can be said for girls who act and look like boys.
With that being said, where does that lead when sexuality will continue to be re-defined to fit their narrative?
0 ups, 4y
There are a lot of heterosexual cross-dressers out there. That said, the parents are allowing the child to choose for themselves. They're not forcing a narrative either way. Do you really think two hetero parents dream of a trans child? Probably not. But giving their child the freedom to do what makes them comfortable is a lot better then sending them to one of those camps where they beat and isolate the kids into conformity.

Normal is a relative and fluid concept.

All kids used to be put in dresses for the first few years.
Pink was a popular colour for boys before it was for girls.

High heeled shoes were designed for men to use whilst horseriding.

What does 'act like a boy' mean?

We assign clothes and behaviours to people arbitrarily because we feel safer if everything is categorised and in a box, people are more complex than that system allows for.

Being kind is a good general rule that works for everyone.

Gee, I wonder who gave you such an ridiculous concept that pink color are for boys and high heels are for men? It sounds like to me that someone out there are trying to confuse you with such inane concepts that boys and girls are the same.

you really need to quit dreaming, pal.

Explain what you mean by 'pc nonsense'?

Suicide is actually associated with people feeling unable to be themselves, feeling isolated, being bullied.
This boy clearly has supportive parents, access to mental health support, a budding career.
The only thing that will make him vulnerable is being on the receiving end of the kind of comments I've seen from people like you.

Hopefully he'll be able to avoid people that would condemn him for doing nothing more than dressing up.

"Suicide is actually associated with people feeling unable to be themselves"

...that includes folks who thinks they can pick whatever gender they choose, twinkletoes.

That list of statistics doesn't contradict what I said, people who are lgbtq+ are marginalised and at greater risk of abuse and likely to receive less support than other people.

This is what poses a risk to mental health, not the fact that they are lgbtq+.

Saying 'folks who think they can pick whatever gender they choose' is just demonstrating your ignorance.

There's nothing whimsical or trivial about coming to terms with the realisation that your gender doesn't match your biology.

Do you really think people would express that they are transgender lightly if they knew it could lose them family and friends.

Do you think that by denying people the ability to be authentically themselves you are preserving some traditional ideal?

Gender is fluid, language is fluid, society is fluid, get over it.

If you want to have absolute control, build yourself a model trainset.
0 ups, 4y
You are confusing sex and gender; Sex is based on biology, gender is based on a social construct.

When did I say I was the smartest guy in the room?

My arguments are based on evidence not emotion.

Being transgender is not a mental illness.

You want me to explain the word 'authentic', seriously?

You think my I sound barely coherent and then you compare someone saying what gender they are to saying that they are a rapist or serial killer, are you actually thinking about what you're saying or speaking emotionally?
Because it sounds emotional.

Are you serious?

How are you so woefully ignorant of history??

'That's my line', what do you want, royalties?

I have people to do many things but I think for myself, thanks.

You don't sound like you've done a whole lot of thinking for yourself, rather that you're parroting bigoted views you've heard others spout.
0 ups, 4y
So I'm a bigot by pointing out of what's wrong with this PC nonsense?
You keep saying that you think for yourself and you support a child performing in drag. It won't be surprising if that boy will become a statistic of the highest suicide rates among transvestites.

'Twinkle toes, cupcake, mule..'

When people resort to insults, it's to make the other person sound less credible and to compensate for their weak argument...

#1-They're supposed to keep their hands to themselves. #2-If this behavior goes unchecked, later on down the line he could graduate to more severe behavior (God forbid).

He probably didn’t understand boundaries. He has autism. Teach him that there’s are boundaries and where they are so that he can understand.

This isn't about some Puritanical BS. Maybe Sally doesn't like Jimmy hugging and kissing her all day long. Children with autism don't always understand the other person's POV. He's not stopping to check to see if the other kids are cool with it first. And if they're not, and he keeps doing it, he needs to be checked. It's for the best for everyone involved.

And, I'm on the AS spectrum, so I can probably understand why the 5 year old randomly hugs and kisses classmates. Sometimes, I just wanna good hug.
