Well, I've also "insulted" people as a joke, but mostly you can make it out of the the context. But we all know the common internet troll who think they are safe since they can hide behind an avatar not revealing their name and really go into harassment of the worst kind imaginable (quite often also racist, sexist or homophobe other otherwise despicable), and then it becomes pretty the act of a coward and (to stay in style of the meme) "a fool".
I do know that the internet is a dangerous place so that care is required when throwing your name and picture around.
