He wants single payer health care. He recently called for the Federal government to take over electrical production. So he wants government run health care and a government run energy sector. And then there is his tax plan which advocates up to 90% tax rates. Plus a college education paid for by the government, ie, tax payers. Aaaand he says he is a Democratic Socialist. That just means he uses different verbage from a mere Socialist. I did not mean to unload on you and I'm not looking for a debate. I just wanted to outline the reasons for why I say he is a Socialist.

i can see why from his very progressive views that you would think he is a socialist, but the fact still remains that he does back capitalism's basic values. actual communists support him for those policies, but not because they think he'll abolish capitalism, they call him a reformist, not a socialist

We will have to agree to disagree for now. Let's see how is policies evolve as the primaries and or campaign advances. Of course, we will not know how far Socialist he will go unless he gets elected. Just remember that China is economically capitalist while being politically communist. I don't think anyone would call them anything other than Communist. By the way, I do appreciate civil disagreement such as we have here. Now if we could just get politicians on both sides to do the same!

He praised and admired social communists like Soviet Union, Castro and Chavez. He is as much of a communist socialist as you are brainwashed. The short and simple answer.
