The sad thing is you think Trump's scared of any of these losers. He probably respects Bernie to a degree as he also build up a strong base. In a debate with Trump, Biden would stroke out and die on stage, fading out as he softly calls for Cornpop.

All the polls show Democratic candidates tying or beating Trump, and they have for some time.

Caveats:
1. It’s still early.
2. Polls these days across Western democracies seem to systematically undercount right-wing support, for reasons that remain mysterious
3. As we’ve seen, Republican candidates for president can lose the nationwide popular vote by 3 million votes and still win if their votes are placed strategically

I predict a very, very competitive general election race in 2020 as long as the economy remains healthy.

If it catches a cold, then I think Trump is done. Because let’s be honest, he does not offer average voters who are not already firm anti-Democrat partisans very many reasons other than that to be on his side.

After this crop of dem candidates, one doesn't have to be a firm antidem partisan to vote for the (far) lesser evil. The only chance now is Klobbie, as she seems fairly moderate but she still wants FREE health care for illegals and thinks illegally crossing the border shouldn't be a crime.

Not mysterious at all. In 2016, people either didn't want others to know they supported Trump, due to the bullying and hatred from slimy progressive types or they were screwing with the pollsters. I call it the Trump effect.

If dems come out in droves, it'll be competitive, but we all know the young are mostly lazy bastards and will be overconfident, like last time, thanks to these 'polls'. Republicans ALSO need not to be overconfident, but even centrists like Tim Pool think it's a lock for Trump.
