Depends on what you're eating and why. Stress eating usually isn't healthy and will just compound your problems. Trust me, been there done that, still struggle at times. Best to distract yourself with other activities or ask yourself what your're looking for when you grab another bite. Hang in there. Talking about it with others and being honest about your struggles to those who can truly help you is a good first step.

Pizza and breadsticks seems to be helping my recent anxiety and mood swings (but I ate it all my life, but an American)

Forgot to mention that I'm still struggling with depression, but it's sorta getting better.

Not every thing. Just eat enough. Not too much. Still be healthy. That's all I have to say.

It's not. Don't do it. It's easy to fall into that, though. If you feel like eating away a negative feeling, ask yourself, "What did I last eat? And when did I eat it?" This will help you keep from overeating and putting yourself at risk for diseases and other unhealthy habits. Try to find some kind of hobby, even if you feel you're not good at, and channel your energy into that. Hope you feel better, And I hope you find this useful. By the way, sometimes feelings of hunger can be chased away by drinking water.

Try eating healthy foods when you’re emotionally eating. I also find eating therapeutic but eating more nutritious food leaves you feeling better. Also there’s nothing wrong with having a bag of goldfish once in a while

Hi Lacey, there's a chemical that the brain that releases, called endorphins; which makes us feel pleasure. When you eat, exercise, or hurt yourself, the chemical is released as it is both a giver of pleasure, euphoria, and painkiller. Unfortunately, with any substance we can abuse it, using it as a coping mechanism.

Those who suffer from extreme low self esteem or depression (i.e. bully victims, parental abuse, etc) use food as a coping mechanism. Some also self-harm by cutting themselves. It gives them the feeling and sense of control. Still others use drugs and alcholol to deal with their pain,

All of which are unhealthy and destuctive coping mechanisms which will only harm them in the end.

I have good friends and family, it's just that I have an unknown cause of depression that's probably linked to 50% of my anxiety.

How are you doing?

I'm sorta doing okay, but to be honest with you, I think I hit plateau (not in a good way). But, kinda gotten better, but not a whole lot.

Finding yourself in a plateau, or falling is normal (I may have told you that before, and probably you've heard that already). I just want to tell you that so that you don't think you're a failure,

You are not.

It is like any fight, a tough one; but as any fight, it can be overcome.

Have I ever told you that I also had insomnia? By the way, I'm pretty sure that insomnia also contributed to my depression. To break it down, 50% is my teenage anxiety, 25% is my insomnia I just mentioned, 15% is my confidence issues/feeling worthless (for no reason), 10% is the only thing that remains a mystery (that 10% probably is why I had that plateau in the first place, haven't figured it out yet, I'm trying). It took me, like 3 or 4 months for me to figure most of the reasons why I was depressed (I consider that too long). I've been fighting it, but sometimes there's days I don't even feel like I can't even tackle the day.

I'm going to have to look that up what insomnia factors into one's depression. What i can say however is that it is very important to have regular, 7-8 hour sleep; 6 at a minimum. Are you taking anything to deal with insomnia?

As for the composition of your depression; I can see the teenage anxiety playing a role in your depression. All others follows. .

I've been told to try bedtime rituals by taking a warm bath, because warm water tricks me into sleeping

Hi Lacey, I belong to a stream where conversations are private

imgflip.com/m/Mentor_Stream

It was created by Kate and it is for ImgFlip users who discuss issues they rather not speak of openly. If go there and continue our discussion, post a meme and we'll resume from there.

I'd also like to introduce you to Kate and she is an excellent listener.
