Yep, it was a simpler time in those halcyon days: jokes about dogs on cars, Mormon underwear, and endlessly replaying his unscripted “47%” comment that probably cost him dearly. It’s an election. Negative stuff gets said.
But times have changed
Now we are dealing with an actual threat to our elections, which as Romney points out, is a threat to our Republic
And: politicians are capable of evolving and growing — or, staying true to their principles.
In Romney’s case? He is the one who stayed true to his principles while most of the rest of the GOP caved into Trump’s hate-filled, nativist and cynical vision of America
I supported neither Romney nor Obama in ‘12 (I voted libertarian), but in hindsight, both are looking much, much better.
