You're right. It's very emotional because molestation involves actual, physical pain - as well, it causes mental and emotional issues for the child. Many feel shame for things they had no control over (I did). The family of the victim are also traumatized, as they feel guilt and shame for not protecting the child from these acts. The family of the perpetrator also feel guilt and shame.
If you weren't molested as a child, you should count yourself lucky. It super sucks. Mine coincided with the appearance of a speech impediment that took 25 years to overcome...and it still resurfaces now and then.
Put me in the same room as my tormentors and I'm pretty sure I'd feel better for anything I did to them.
If anyone violated my children, you can bet that the FIRST thing I would do is commit murder - because I know first-hand what that can do to a person.
